Consultations
When you contact Oak Leaf Lactation you can expect personalized, professional and ongoing care. During our initial phone call, we will discuss your concerns and decide whether a consultation is required. My appointments are generally within 24 hours of our first conversation and take place in your home. While every mother & baby has different needs, home visits generally last 1.5-2 hours.

- Medical history of mother and baby
- Physical assessment of mother and baby
- Analysis of concerns and breastfeeding issues
- Discussion of strategies towards breastfeeding success
- A written care plan of strategies for your reference
- Follow-up via phone and email
- A written report to your physician and pediatrician
After our appointment, I encourage my clients to keep in touch with me until they feel fully confident that their concerns are resolved. I am available for continuing phone support & follow-up appointments as required.

Support Groups
Research shows that mothers who participate in breastfeeding support groups have better breastfeeding results. Utilize the groups in our area designed to help you as a new parent. Most hospitals on Long Island have groups that meet each week and you may attend regardless of where you delivered. La Leche League International has been hosting meetings in our area for over 30 years.
